New York is 9 hours 30 minutes behind India while the US is on daylight time (EDT, March to November). From November to March, on EST, the gap widens to 10 hours 30 minutes.
There is no full shared office day. The realistic window is 8:00 to 9:30 in New York, which is 17:30 to 19:00 in India during EDT and 18:30 to 20:00 during EST. Indian teams supporting US clients often shift their day to finish around 20:00 IST so they catch the New York morning. A second option is 21:00 to 22:00 in New York, which is the early Indian morning at 6:30 to 8:30, useful for quick handovers before Indian staff begin the day.

Table worked out for 2026-10-15 with the real time-zone rules. When a daylight-saving change happens the gap shifts by an hour; the live clocks above always show the current difference.
India never shifts its clocks, so every change comes from New York. On 1 November 2026 the US falls back and the gap grows from 9h30 to 10h30, which pushes a regular 8:30 New York call from 18:00 to 19:00 in India. On 14 March 2027 the US springs forward and the gap shrinks back to 9h30.
For families, a Sunday morning call at 9:00 in New York reaches India at 18:30 or 19:30 the same day, a comfortable slot on both ends. A late call at 22:00 in New York arrives in India the next morning.
It is 23:30 the previous day during EDT, or 22:30 the previous day during EST.
New York moves its clocks twice a year. India stays fixed, so the difference shifts by one hour when New York changes.
Between 18:00 and 20:00 IST reaches the New York morning in both seasons.
