Cookie Policy — ClockAura
This Cookie Policy explains how ClockAura uses cookies, localStorage and similar technologies, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy. The short version: ClockAura itself does not set tracking cookies — we use the browser's localStorage to remember your preferences. Google AdSense and Google Analytics, which we use to fund and measure the site, do set cookies. You can decline non-essential cookies in our consent banner or opt out at any time via google.com/settings/ads.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. localStorage is a similar mechanism that stores data in your browser without sending it on every request. Both are standard browser features used by virtually every modern site. ClockAura uses localStorage to remember an anonymous client identifier, your interface preferences (theme, accent colour, sound choice, volume, mute state), the cities you have added to the World Clock and Meeting Planner, saved Interval Timer presets, your Pomodoro session history, and the cookie-consent choice you made in our banner. Clearing localStorage resets all of this.
Third-party cookies on ClockAura come from Google AdSense and DoubleClick (Google's advertising cookies, served from the doubleclick.net domain — for example the IDE cookie — for advertisement delivery and frequency capping; personalised ads unless you opt out), Google Analytics 4 (aggregate site traffic with IP anonymisation), and Cloudflare (a single security cookie distinguishing humans from bots). Most session cookies are deleted when you close your browser; AdSense/DoubleClick and Analytics persistent cookies last between one day and two years.
You can decline non-essential cookies in our cookie banner, opt out of personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com, use the industry opt-outs at aboutads.info/choices (US) or youronlinechoices.com (EU), block third-party cookies in your browser settings, or clear cookies and localStorage at any time. Per-browser cookie controls are detailed on the page itself for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and Brave.
Cookies on ClockAura are not used to profile children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We may update this Cookie Policy when our cookie use changes; the "Last updated" date is shown at the top of the page. Questions: info@clockaura.com.
